How long does it take to get to Gulmarg?
Gulmarg is a 2 hour drive (approx 55km) from Srinagar city and Srinagar Airport. The flight time to Srinagar is just over one hour from Delhi and over two hours from Mumbai.
What is the weather like?
Gulmarg is a cool mountain resort at an altitude of approx 8825 feet (2690m). While we have 4 seasons in the year it generally remains cool and visitors are advised to carry appropriate clothing with them.
Warm Woolens for winter (November to March) and Lighter woolens for Spring (March to May), Summer (May to August) and Autumn (September to November) are advised. It also rains quite frequently in Gulmarg and proper footwear is needed.
What facilities are available?
While Gulmarg has a small market in the town centre, and a hospital where Doctors are available on call at all times, we advise our guests to carry any essential medication that they need with them.
When does it snow and what is the best time to ski?
Although it may snow in Gulmarg at any time from late November till late March, the best time to ski is from Mid January to Mid March.
